Sentient Foams has filed a multiregional patent for its unique method of incorporating shapes and profiles into its Hydrophilic Aliphatic Foam, employing the leading intellectual property company, D Young & Co.
The profiles are introduced during the foam manufacturing process and can take just about any form. The material design can be modified to enhance fluid flow, absorption and cushioning.
Application identified to date include Wound Dressings, Feminine Hygiene and Breast Pads, with other uses being investigated.
Rod Davidson, owner of Sentient Foams, stated ‘we are delighted to bring Dynamic Flow Technology to the market. The compressed areas of foam quickly draws fluid away and the raised profiles designed to store excess fluid. The profiles can also be used to improve product flexibility giving our customers the opportunity to bring unique and high performance products into their market’
